The fifth 'just five more minutes'

For parents: It's 7:47 PM. Dinner is on the table. You call a third time. From the bedroom: "Yeah, in a sec! Just five more minutes!" — that was the answer at 7:25 too.

You stand with a wooden spoon in your hand, feeling the anger rise. At the same time: your own phone is next to your plate. You just answered two emails before you called.

For kids: You're in the middle of a game. If you stop now, you lose. You know dinner is ready — but your head is still in the game. And every time someone calls, it gets harder, because now you're annoyed too.

Screen time is one of the most common flashpoints in families. And most rules parents set don't hold for long. Why? Because they don't apply to everyone. Because they're pulled out of thin air. Because bans create resistance.

The rule that applies to everyone is the rule that actually sticks.

That's what this module is about.
